As a volunteer first responder and parasitologist, my goal was to combine my almost 20 years of experience in parasitology with my love for serving the community in which I live. Approximately 70% of the nation's first responders (Firefighters and EMS) serve as volunteers, most of which cover the rural communities of America. It is these same people who live, work and serve their local communities that make up many of the volunteer departments in these rural areas and who strive to make the communities so great. As we face a nationwide shortage of volunteers, The Parasite Paramedic was created both to be a resource for those with animals in these rural communities as well as to support the volunteer emergency services.
For every 500 kits sold, a Side Charlie Halligan bar will be donated to a selected volunteer department in the country.
